After a washout Bank Holiday Monday, a bit of good weather news on the way

sunny

August Bank Holiday Monday was a total washout across many parts of the country, with persistent rain negating the chance of any outdoor activities.

Better weather is expected next weekend, however, with temperatures likely to reach mid-20s.

Friday will begin somewhat wet, with drizzle and sporadic rain across the west and north, but it will soon clear up to give way to a dry day, with temperatures hovering at around 16-19C.

Saturday is expected to be the best day of the lot with long sunny spells across the south and east, and temperatures peaking at 24C.

Sunday then will see a lot of sunshine and a lot of wind, too, with high temperatures of 16-20C.
