A 16-year-old girl in Pakistan, has been left with severe burns all over her after she rejected a marriage proposal.
According to Dunya News, the teenage girl sustained serious injuries after she was doused in petrol and set on fire by the man she rejected.
It is believed that the young girl was found screaming in agony by her mother in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The horrific incident which occurred in the Muzzafargarh district of Punjab, has left the girl in serious but stable condition in hospital.
Police investigating the incident say they have arrested the man involved and an accomplice after they were seen fleeing the scene.
The girl’s mother alleges that the incident occurred after she and her husband rejected the man’s parents proposal of an arranged marriage between the pair.
