
Hurricane Matthew has been downgraded to a Category 1 storm, and it’s currently tracking along the US eastern seaboard, heading towards North Carolina.
Matthew’s wrath has so far left at least 800 dead in Haiti, and has carved a path of destuction acrosss many other areas. An estimated half a million people have been left without power around the Caribbean, and there have been several deaths reported in southern Florida.
There is a high probability of a cholera outbreak in Haiti, as water infrastructure has largely been destroyed or rendered temporarily inoperative.
Northern Florida, Georgia and South Carolina in a state of high alert as the storm sweeps close by.
