Enoch Burke faces a €1,400 daily fine for each day he appears at Wilson’s Hospital School in Westmeath, in violation of a High Court directive.

Two years ago, a €700 daily penalty was introduced to enforce compliance with the order, issued following his termination from the school for gross misconduct.

Mr Justice David Nolan opted to double the fine after learning that Burke has repeatedly entered the school premises since the year began.
Additionally, the Attorney General has been granted approval to request a receiver be appointed to garnish Burke’s teaching salary to cover the accumulated fine, now nearing €80,000.
