In an about turn Jeremy Corbyn calls for second Brexit referendum and says Labour will back remain

Leader of the UK Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn has called for a second referendum on Brexit and has said his party would back remain.

This marks a change in Labour policy as the former life-long Eurosceptic had said his party will respect the democratic decision of the British people and seek an orderly departure from the bloc with a deal on free trade and travel.

However, radical Europhiles inside the party who seek to overturn the democratic decisions made back in June 2016 seem to have now gained the upper hand in the party.

Ironically the same leftists seem unaware that under the EU rules on state intervention in the economy practically all of Labour’s left-wing policies would be illegal under EU law and could not be implemented should the UK remain in the EU.

Corbyn will now the demand the new leader of the Conservative Party who will become Prime Minister hold a so-called “people’s vote” despite the fact that they literally held a people’s vote on the issue already.

As we have seen in Ireland the Brussels elite and the Europhilic political class often disregard democratic decisions if they go against the agenda of the EU such as with the Nice and Lisbon treaty referenda.

Meanwhile the two top contenders for Conservative Party leadership Boris Johnson and Jeremy Hunt have both threatened a no-deal Brexit if the EU is unwilling to renegotiate by the October 31 deadline.
