Instagram’s new feature that provides users with suggested search terms based on their interests has run into some controversy already.
According to the Sun, some people with eating disorders found that the Instagram app was prompting them to search for terms like “appetite suppressant” raising the risk of a relapse or worse.
Facebook, the parent company of Instagram has admitted their mistake of including harmful terms. They say it was an oversight and it has been removed in an update.
