Hundreds of employees were evacuated from the computer chip making plant this morning after Gardai received a phone call saying that a bomb had been planted at the plant.

Gardai in turn contacted Intel, and the facility was evacuated.

The bomb threat was deemed to be ‘credible’.

Special units are conducting a thorough search of the plant, and employees are not allowed to enter their vehicles.

Around 4,000 staff work at the Intel campus in Leixlip.
