Ireland heatwave heartbreak as weather about to take u-turn in crushing Met Eireann forecast

The weather has different ideas for us just when we thought we might look forward to a period of stable circumstances. Sadly, those dreams have been dashed after optimistic projections indicated a pleasant and sunny weekend and week ahead, reports The Mirror.

Ireland will only get a brief taste of the warm air rising from Spain during this heatwave, while our friends across the Irish Sea are preparing for sweltering temperatures of up to 30C.

Met Eireann stated in a devastating report that the expected period of pleasant weather will be frustratingly short. On Saturday, it’s predicted to be a comfortable 22C, but the happiness won’t last long.

A recognisable pattern of rain is expected to spread gradually over the nation on Sunday, sometimes getting heavier and sapping away any last semblance of summer, reports The Mirror.

Even with this disappointment, there is a bright side. Although a lot of dry weather is predicted for next week, the UK won’t see the extreme heat that is predicted.

The outlook for the week ahead reads: “High pressure will be situated close to Ireland for much of next week bringing fairly settled conditions across the country for the first week in September. There is a signal for lower than average precipitation and slightly higher than average temperatures. However, there will be some weak weather fronts during the week bringing outbreaks of rain and cloud at times,” reports The Mirror.

Looking ahead, as September goes on, it is anticipated that the weather will grow increasingly erratic. Low pressure systems are expected to reappear, bringing with them the unpredictable weather that has dogged us for the most of the summer, according to forecasts.

Meanwhile, the weather will be mostly dry and between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius during the next few days. There may be sporadic showers, though, especially on Sunday when the majority of the nation is predicted to be drenched in rain, reports The Mirror.
