Irexit-The Irish Freedom Party has launched a nation-wide billboard campaign ahead of the coming Local and European Elections in May.
Irish Freedom Party Director of Communications, James Darby said
“We believe the best people to look after Irish affairs are the Irish people themselves. We will be making the case to be a normal, self-governing and independent state. Something that those who came before us, sacrificed to create for the good of their children’s future.”
The party, which is headed by Herman Kelly, a former journalist and Director of Communications for the ‘Europe of Freedom and Direct Democracy’ group in the European Parliament, launched the party last September and it has attracted interest around the country.
The party advocates Ireland leaving the European Union and becoming an independent, self-governing country with its own currency and with laws that will be decided upon solely by the Irish people’s elected representatives rather than unelected EU bureaucrats.
With the EU expected to forge ahead with a united European army, common tax base and the increasing the centralisation of power and sovereignty into the hands of the Brussels elite over the next few years, Euroscepticism is expected to grow.
