“It’s pure bullying” – Uproar at suggestion that the HSE is looking at whether doctors and nurses who don’t want the vaccine can still work with patients on the front line

Frontline workers who feel that they don’t want to get the vaccine may be so-called “black balled” in their workplace if the HSE deem them unfit to work with patients.

In something that has a very bad taste about it, social media users have been saying that frontline workers who decide that they don’t want to get the vaccine for whatever reason, including in some cases not being able to receive it, should not be treated any different to their vaccinated co-workers.

But that may not be the case in the near future.

The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly was interviewed on Ireland AM and was pressed about how a large number of frontline hospital workers do not want to take the vaccine.

It must be noted that the vaccine is not mandatory for anyone to take and will remain optional.

It’s understood that the government expert around 80% of adults to receive the vaccine, possibly more, possibly less, but either way – they expect a significant number of people to never take the vaccine.

Donnelly said that the HSE is now looking at whether frontline workers who do not want to get the vaccine will still be allowed to care for patients in hospitals and care centres.

What do you think? Should they still be allowed to care for patients or not?
