Jobs for the lads: Three additional junior ministers on massive wages to be appointed under new government

Three more minister of state positions will be created by the new administration, raising the total to a record 23, reports RTE.

It is anticipated that new legislation to support the hike would be introduced during the first two days of the government’s inauguration on Wednesday.

The new junior ministers will be in charge of migration, the elderly, and the marines, reports RTE.

According to a government spokeswoman, the rise was necessary due to the increased obligations of the government as a result of new problems, demographic shifts, and population growth.

Over the next few days, Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael members will discuss the proposed Programme for Government.

Beginning tomorrow evening in Dublin, Fine Gael will conduct five meetings around the nation, reports RTE.

To approve the document that would allow Micheál Martin to be elected Taoiseach in the Dáil next Wednesday, a Fianna Fáil Ard Fheis will be conducted in the capital on Sunday.

Nine Independent TDs from the Regional Group will back the two parties, after Danny and Michael Healy-Rae joined the group yesterday, reports RTE.

Super junior ministerial positions will allow two of the group’s TDs, Seán Canney and Noel Grealish, to participate in and attend Cabinet sessions.

In addition to participating in the weekly pre-cabinet discussion with the Taoiseach and Tánaiste, Mr. Canney will oversee the Independent group inside government.

Marian Harkin, Michael Healy-Rae, and Kevin Boxer Moran will all serve as ministers of state, reports RTE.
