
A motorcyclist who died in an accident in County Wexford on Wednesday is receiving tributes, reports Breaking News.
The victim is identified as Curracloe resident Jonathan Kavanagh, 48.
At around 9.20 a.m. on Wednesday, Mr Kavanagh was riding his motorbike when he collided with a vehicle on the R742 in Johnstown, Castlebridge, reports Breaking News.
Mr. Kavanagh was declared dead at the spot when emergency personnel were contacted. Mr. Kavanagh is a “keen motorcyclist and also a gentleman,” according to the locals.
“We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to our activities coordinator Liz and all her family on the loss of her son,” stated the statement from Wygram Nursing Home in Wexford Town, where Jonathan’s mother worked as an activities coordinator. His partner Liz and son Ben survive him. In addition, there are the siblings Vinny, Graham, and Lisa, as well as the parents John and Liz. His remains will be laid to rest on Sunday, January 19 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Macken’s Funeral Home, Distillery Road, Wexford.
After being taken to St. Margaret’s Church in Curracloe on Monday morning for funeral mass at 12 p.m., they will be buried in the nearby cemetery, reports Breaking News.
Any witnesses to this accident are being urged to come forward by the GardaÃ. The Gardaà are also requesting that anybody who may have dash cam or other video footage from driving by the area between 8.30 and 9.30 am on Wednesday, January 15th, share it with them.
