Kenny: “I won’t accept from anyone that rural Ireland is dead”

Enda Kenny has given a severe denouncing of anyone who says that rural Ireland isn’t doing as well as urban places.

Many people are saying that Dublin and its surrounding counties are getting far more attention for an economic upturn than country counties.

They believe that there now is a two tier recovery and that rural Ireland is being left behind.

“I don’t accept at all anybody’s thesis that provincial Ireland is dead,” said the Taoiseach.

“Yes, there have been catastrophes. Yes, there are places that have suffered unduly.”

“Now the challenge is to make that investment happen in another way. It’s all changing.”, he concluded.
