In an interview with the Irish independent, Enda Kenny decided to throw a serious amount of fuel on the water charges fire.
Kenny suggested reducing water bills which can be deducted from non-paying homeowners’ wages from the current limit of €500.
The Taoiseach was commenting after Europe stuck their nose in again by stating this week that water charges can’t be abolished once they are in place.
“You’re going to pay your water charges”, and that’s that, according to Kenny. It’s not yet known how he thinks he’s going to reintroduce the immoral tax on the people who took to the streets in their thousands to oppose it.
Only time will tell.
