Labour leader Alan Kelly says party won’t take part in Government talks

The Labour Party leader Alan Kelly has confirmed that his party will not enter Government talks with either Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil.

In a statement Kelly said that his party has decided against entering talks as it is not clear that a united position has been adopted in terms of the future economic and fiscal policy.

Kelly also said that both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil have a position in terms of a properly functioning and responsive state.

He added that it was his party’s view that ongoing talks between Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil and the Green Party should reach their natural conclusion.
