Gardai and Child and Family Agency Tusla have received offers from dozens of families to foster abandoned Baby Maria, it has emerged today.
The baby girl spent some time in the care of hospital staff before being released, and she is said to be thriving in the care of a foster family.
She could potentially remain in foster care until the age of 18, as only a biological parent can sign adoption papers.
Gardai remain concerned for the welfare of Baby Maria’s mother, and have reissued appeals for her to come forward.
