Legend: Fr Peter McVerry – “say hello to homeless people”, the government are out of touch

He’s a good man, it’s plain for all to see.

Fr Peter McVerry was interviewed on the Tommy Tiernan show speaking about how out of touch the government are in relation to Ireland’s homeless community.

He said that they need to get to grips with the homeless in Ireland and how they deserve a chance at living a normal life in a house of their own.

Fr McVerry said that if people want to give a few euro to homeless people begging that they can do so but at the very least, please just say “hello, how are you?”, or ” I’m sorry, I don’t have any money on me”, to which most homeless just say “thanks anyway”.

A well-known and liked priest, Fr Peter McVerry has done incredibly selfless work with the homeless for over 40 years in Dublin while living in Ballymun.
