Life On Mars? Researchers find potenital new evidence

Researchers from Italy believe that recently discovered lakes found a mile under the surface of Mars could harbour lifeforms.

The scientists discovered sophisticated underground water systems, the Sun reports, which are similar to those beneath Antarctica that are home to obscure shrimp species and sea cucumbers.

These new discoveries mean there is a possibility for ‘microbial life’ on the Red planet, according to a professor at a university in Rome. An astrophysicist from a research institute in Bologna said the recently revealed areas could also host evidence of life on Mars dating back to when it had a climate similar to early Earth.

Mars once had a dense atmosphere, a mild climate and water on its surface which would all be conducive to some form of life spawning.
