The Government have confirmed that there will be an increase in Local Property Tax and homes built since 2013 will also be included in the scheme.
Under the new proposals 33% of those already paying the tax will see an increase of €100, whilst there will be larger increases for some home owners.
The scheme which forms part of the Government’s economic recovery plan will also see homes built since 2013 being included.
Although the Taoiseach Micheal Martin has stated that the majority of home owners won’t see an increase, some homeowners will be required to pay the tax which has been the subject of debate in recent years.
