The Luas drivers really haven’t gotten the message from the public yet, they met to discuss plans to hold an all-out-strike which will affect up to a quarter of a million commuters.

Yesterday was the 12th day of strike action by Luas drivers, with around 90,000 commuters affected.
Next week, the Labour Court will explore whether an intervention is necessary after Luas representatives meet with the Irish Congress of Trade Unions.

A spokesperson said:
“The workers don’t care what the public think, they want a bonus of 6.5% increased to 10%, end of”, she said.

The drivers are currently on a starting salary of circa €36,000 and want that increased to circa €42,000 with free GP care and holiday benefits.
