Several chicken items available at Dunnes Stores and Lidl supermarkets throughout Ireland have been urgently recalled due to concerns about food safety, reports The Mirror.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued recalls in the last week that affect various chicken wings and drumsticks, which could present serious health risks if consumed.

These contaminated products have been associated with the potential presence of dangerous bacteria, such as Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes, both of which can cause severe health issues, reports The Mirror.

Even though these items have expired, the FSAI has issued an urgent alert that they might still be in customers’ freezers and could be unknowingly eaten if they are not correctly identified and discarded.

Consequently, the FSAI recommends that all consumers immediately inspect their freezers for any affected items and dispose of them. Alternatively, both Dunnes Stores and Lidl have stated that customers can return the items for a complete refund, regardless of whether they have a receipt. Recall announcements will be posted in-store, and the products in question are no longer available for purchase, reports The Mirror.

Both supermarkets have apologized for any trouble this may have caused and provided contact numbers for additional help: Lidl can be contacted at 01 920 3010, while Dunnes Stores can be reached at 01 902 0309.

Below are the specifics of the affected products.
