Gardai have confirmed that a man has been seriously injured following a road traffic incident in Co Longford.
It is understood that the man aged in his 30s was seriously injured after the car he was travelling in collided with a ditch on the R392 at Foigha, near Ballymahon.
Gardai say the injured man was taken to Tullamore Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
They are also appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward and contact them.
