Man and woman jailed after being found in possession of drugs valued at over €700,000

An eight-year prison sentence has been imposed on a man who was found in possession of drugs valued at over €700,000 and cash profits of €30,000 from criminal activity, reports Breaking News.

According to Breaking News, Killian McCabe, 27, of Woodlands Park, Arklow, Co. Wicklow, was apprehended by gardaí on November 20 2022 in Knocklyon, with two vans containing heroin, cocaine, amphetamine, cannabis, and cannabis resin valued at €718,240.

It was alleged that shortly after McCabe gave her the drugs that evening, his co-accused, 33-year-old Charlene Murphy, was discovered driving her car with €87,240 worth of cannabis resin. The Dublin Circuit Criminal Court heard that after gardaí searched her residence at St Jarlath’s Road, Cabra, Dublin, they discovered an additional €4480 worth of cocaine.

Breaking News reports that Murphy was sentenced to two years in prison after entering a guilty plea to two counts of possessing narcotics for sale or supply.

Investigator Garda Ivor Scully informed prosecutor Aideen Collard BL that on the relevant evening, gardaí had received information about a drug trade occurring at Knocklyon’s Woodlawn Lane.
