A man has been charged with theft and traffic violations at many gas stations in County Donegal, and he has appeared in court, reports The Mirror.
Patrick McKinney made an appearance at Letterkenny District Court by videolink.
Among the other violations the 39-year-old is accused of are six ‘drive-offs’ from two gas stations without paying for fuel.
Driving away from Callaghan’s Filling Station in Moness, Burt, and Kee’s Service Station in Laghey without paying is the complaint brought against McKinney, reports The Mirror.
He is accused of driving away from Callaghan’s Filling Station five times without paying the €346 in gasoline charges.
In addition, the defendant—who is being represented by attorney Mr. Rory O’Brien—is accused of handling stolen property, namely a Ford Transit camper van, hindering Gardai, and possessing a fictitious driver’s license.
In addition, he faces charges for not having a valid driver’s license or insurance after being pulled over by Gardai three times at Callaghan’s Filling Station.
In addition, McKinney is accused of providing Garda Tomas McMahon with a fake residence and identity when he was detained on July 30, 2024, and taken to Buncrana Garda Station, reports The Mirror.
The Criminal Justice Act of 1984’s Section 6(4) was violated by this accusation.
During the brief hearing, McKinney, whose address is Moyglass Place, Strathfoyle in Derry, remained silent.
The dates of all the alleged offences are September 25, 2023, and July 30, 2024.
The case has been postponed until later this month by Judge Deirdre Gearty, reports The Mirror.
