A 45-year-old man is in critical condition in Beaumont hospital after he was shot outside a gym in Balbriggan Co Dublin.
The shooting is believed to have happened just after 11am this morning outside a gym within the town, it also understood that the incident happened just 50m from a creche.
Brian O’Reilly, who is believed to.be well known by the gardaí, was shot twice in the chest.
Mr O’Reilly was rushed to the Beaumont Hospital, where it is believed he is a serious condition which has been described as critical.
The scene has since been closed off by the Gardai were a technical examination will take place.
