A man passed away while climbing Mount Brandon in Kerry.
The incident happened on Thursday afternoon.
It is understood that the deceased, a 56-year-old male, was part of a group hiking in the area. He fell ill while at the mountain and passed away at the scene.
No foul play is suspected.
