Man remains in critical condition after being found with stab wounds to his head in Mullingar

A man in his 30s was found seriously injured in Mullingar early Saturday morning and remains critically unwell in the hospital, reports RTE.

What is known is that yesterday morning at around one in the morning, the man was attacked in the town.

Around 1.10 am, the man was discovered on Grove Street in the town with terrible injuries, according to the Gardaí, reports RTE.

The incident is said to have occurred as the man was returning home after a Christmas party at work.

Gardaí surrounded the area and carried out a technical evaluation.

Witnesses are being invited to testify if they have camera footage from the area of Grove Street and the adjacent areas between 12.30 and 12.30 in the morning, reports RTE.
