Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has confirmed that she will not be travelling to the US this St Patrick’s Day.
In a statement released today McDonald said that she will not travel to Washington D.C this year given current circumstances.
McDonald did however state that party vice president and Deputy First Minister Michelle O’Neill will travel.
It is believed that Ms McDonald’s decision comes after the school which her children attend was forced to close for two weeks following an outbreak.
