Dr Anthony Fauci has said that there is no evidence that wearing two masks has a significant reduction in the transmission of the Chinese virus.
The Doctor has reversed his position from last week when he advised that that Americans wear two masks to further protect themselves from the coronavirus.
Fauci said in an interview with NBC News “TODAY” last Monday.
“So, if you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective.
Going on to say, “That’s the reason why you see people either double masking or doing a version of an N95.”
However, when speaking about double masking in a video livestream interview with the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) on Thursday, which has now gone viral, Fauci said “There’s nothing wrong with that but there’s no data that indicates that that is going to make a difference.”
Following Fauci’s original remarks some doctors that the corporate media roll out to reinforce the establishment’s official line on Covid-19 suggested wearing multiple masks.
Mocking the advice some commentators on social media sarcastically suggested people should tie plastic bags over their head, just to make extra sure they don’t contract the virus.
