The Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald has said cuts to the Pandemic Unemployment Payment are unfair and wrong.
Speaking on RTE’s This Week in Politics programme, McDonald said that she can’t understand the Minister for Finance decision to make cuts.
The Sinn Fein leader told the programme that she cuts were unfair and wrong especially given that large parts of the economy are still shutdown.
She told the programme that the Government needs to reevaluate its position and be driven by common sense and fairness.
McDonald’s comments come after the Minister for Finance recently announced that Pandemic Unemployment Payments will be cut in order to make the scheme last longer.
