Met Eireann have issued a yellow weather alert for the west if the country this evening.
Met Éireann say high winds coming from the west to southwest are expected for all parts of Connacht tonight, it is expected that winds will reach up 110km per hour in counties Donegal, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick respectively.
Forecasters say the warning has been put in place until tomorrow morning at 6am.
