Met Eireann has issued an urgent nationwide Status Yellow warning for low temperatures as thermometers plunge below -5C.
The warning will kick in at 5pm tonight and remain in place until 11am tomorrow.
Ireland is currently gripped by a cold spell, which is expected to last until the end of the week, when milder but more unsettled weather will take over.
