Met Eireann has issued an urgent weather warning for two counties as very wet and windy conditions are approaching just in time for the weekend.
The warning, which will kick in at 9pm tonight and remain in place until 8am on Saturday, affects counties Cork and Waterford.
According to the national forecaster, between 20-30mm of water might fall in a relatively short period of time, which might lead to localised flooding.
The outlook is for rather unpleasant weather conditions over the next 48h across most of Ireland.
