Met Eireann is saying that today will be a cold, bright, and mostly dry day, with freezing temperatures ahead the next couple of nights.
According to the national forecaster, Tuesday and Wednesday night will see the thermometer drop to -3C.
The weather will turn wetter by Wednesday night, with rain spreading overnight across most of Ireland.
The outlook is for more unsettled weather during the latter part of the week and into the weekend.
