Animal rescuers in the UK came up with a novel way to save a pet dog – they lowered a sausage on a drone to draw her attention.
According to UPI, Millie, a Jack Russell terrier and whippet mix, got lost on a walk in Hamshire. She ended up on some mud flats that have been known to flood in high tide.
To get her attention, rescuers lowered a sausage from a drone and were able to get the dog’s attention and draw her towards her owner who was then close enough to catch her.
A volunteer with the Denmead Drone Search and Rescue, said that Millie was very hungry at the time they found her, so it was easy to get her attention with the sausage and draw her back to safety.
