Fianna Fáil has announced that a Deliveroo driver who stopped an attack on Parnell Street in November of last year would run in the next municipal elections, reports RTE.
The man who had abused a mother and three children in Dublin city was struck by Caio Benicio using his helmet.

Originating in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Mr. Benicio intends to run in the Dublin North Inner City Local Electoral Area.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Fianna Fáil said: “Caio wanted to play a greater role in his community and has decided politics is a way of doing that. We are very pleased he has chosen to run for Fianna Fáil and we believe he will make a fine candidate for the North Inner City,” reports RTE.
