As one social media users said, just as things seem to finally be coming back to some sort of normality, there’s always a spoil sport who tries to ruin things for everyone.
Along with that, some social media users call Professor Luke O’Neill the affectionate name of “Professor Puke O’Neill” and are not happy with his latest outburst.
Speaking to Anton Savage on Newstalk, Prof O’Neill said many people are nervous about the prospect of others choosing not to wear masks in public indoor settings.
“It’s still wintertime and the virus is still there. We should still encourage people to wear masks in indoor settings… It’s just it’s not going to be illegal anymore not to wear them.
“The ones we worry about now are the immunocompromised people… they’re very worried. Public transport is a big fearful place for them.”
