Around 10:30 this morning a body was found in the waters at Harty’s Quay in Mahon, Cork.
The body was removed from the water and was sent to Cork University Hospital. A post- mortem examination was due to take place earlier today.
Due to the fact that they were unable to determine the gender of the body they have not yet established the identity.
The scene has not yet been preserved.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who would have any information on the body.
