New figures reveal that over 1,000 people have been caught driving under the influence since lockdown began




It has been revealed that over 1,00people have been caught driving under the influence since the Covid-19 lockdown began.

According to The Irish Mirror newspaper, a total of 1,153 motorists were caught driving under the influence since March 27th.

The Irish Mirror reports that latest figures released by the Gardai show that high number of people were caught driving under the influence of either drugs or alcohol.

The release of the figures come as Gardai have called on the Public to be careful whilst driving on the roads this coming Bank Holiday weekend.
