New Taoiseach to be elected on December 17, according to the Government

A new Taoiseach will be elected on December 17, according to the Government.

In reality though, no one will be ‘elected’. Rather, former Taoiseach appointee Leo Varadkar is getting a second go a the top job.

The current and unelected ruling coalition performed an effective soft coup in the last election, since they installed themselves but no one voted them in, but nobody in Ireland seems to care much about the fact that an unelected bunch of people rules over them.
