Often described as the man who made Brexit happen, Nigel Farage has once again provoked the ire of the UK establishment after he travelled to Dover to report on illegal migrants crossing the English Chanel from France to the UK.

After Mr Farage posted a video from Dover speaking about the situation, he received a late night visit from the police who told him

“We understand that you have been to Dover today and we have received a complaint. We’ve come to talk to you about essential travel.”
Referring to the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions in place in the UK which prohibit people form non-essential travel.

This is despite the fact that Mr Farage has a national radio show and is a frequent newspaper columnist and journalists are exempt from these restrictions.

Mr Farage was in Dover to report on the ongoing arrival of illegal migrants crossing from France who are then ferried ashore by the UK border police and housed despite British citizens being subject to an Orwellian lockdown.

Speaking in regards to visit by the police, the leading Brexiter postulated that if a “well known political and media figure” had been visited by the police in similar fashion after legitimately reporting on a case of public interest there would have been outrage.
