Last night, there was even more chaos, with attacks on police reported in east Belfast.
After dumpsters were set on fire, obstructing Connswater Street, and cops were attacked, five arrests were made. There was one injured policeman, reports RTE.
Thus far, seventeen people have been taken into custody.
The National Police Coordination Centre has received a request for more personnel to help the policing operation from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, which said that it had requested assistance from British troops, reports RTE.
The officers will offer crucial resilience and support, as well as get the required equipment and familiarisation training, according to Temporary Assistant Chief Constable Melanie Jones.
