Gardai have now launched an investigation into the incident, which took place in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin.
It is understood that the nurse, a female in her late 30s, finished her shift on Sunday evening last and gained access to a room usually designated for parents or relatives staying overnight.
