A man in his 70’s has died after a multi-vehicle collision this afternoon.
Five vehicles were involved in the pile-up (four cars and one truck).
The deceased man was the driver of the truck. The incident happened shortly after 12:30pm on the Killarney roundabout, Mallow.
Emergency services treated the man but he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
All the other occupants ranging from mid-teens to late 60’s receieved either no injuries or non-life threatening injuries.
They were brought to Cork University Hospital.
A horse was also fatally injured in the incident.
