US President Donald Trump has said in an interview that comes on the heels of the revelations surrounding the Obama administration’s plot against his advisor and ally General Michael Flynn, that he has a chance to “break” the so-called “deep state.”
In the case of war hero General Flynn who was accused of lying to the FBI the presiding judge dismissed the case after FBI memos were released showing that the General, who had served as President Trump’s first National Security Advisor had been entrapped.
“Other things are going to come out, too. And a lot of other things are going to come out, but you don’t even need other things,” the President told journalist Sharyl Attkisson during his interview.
The 45th President of the United States went on to describe how the deep state, which is too say the political forces that operate behind the scenes in US politics, have tried to sabotage his administration and bring down his presidency.
The Leader of the Free World describes how revelations about the Obama administration’s spying on his campaign and shocking details about the origin of the debunked Russia-Trump collusion conspiracy have afforded him a chance to strike back against the deep state.
“If it keeps going the way it’s going, I have a chance to break the deep state,”
Continuing Trump said.
“It’s a vicious group of people. It’s very bad for our country. And that’s never happened before.”
