Months after the pharmaceutical behemoth acknowledged the medication may occasionally result in very uncommon but potentially fatal problems, AstraZeneca is discontinuing the Covid-19 vaccination globally, reports Independent, however as found by Science feedback, it’s extremely rare and is public knowledge since 2021.

The vaccine, known as Vaxzevria after 2021, has already lost its EU marketing authorization due to the withdrawal of the British-Swedish manufacturer.
The permission to sell a medication in an EU member state is known as authorization, reports Independent.
According to the business, the withdrawal was brought about by a “surplus of available updated vaccines” against newly discovered coronavirus strains.
On March 5th, the vaccination withdrawal request was submitted to the EU, and it became effective on May 7th.
“As multiple variant Covid-19 vaccines have since been developed there’s a surplus of available updated vaccines,” AstraZeneca said, reports Independent.
