Pieta House has raised more than €7 million after its Darkness Into Light event over the weekend.
The news comes after over 140,000 people worldwide took part in events all in the aid of suicide prevention.
It is understood that the charity surpassed its target of €5 million and the final figures are expected to be released later this week.
Meanwhile, social media users are querying just where the monies raised is actually going to. People have been commenting on whether it’s going to actual prevention or whether it’s going to staff, PR, marketing or research.
