Pfizer and BioNtech have submitted data to the European Medicines Agency for approval of the use of their Covid-19 vaccine in children aged between 5 and 12 year’s of age.
In announcement the company confirmed that they have submitted data to the EMA seeking approval for emergency use in children in that age bracket.
Although recent studies have suggested that Covid-19 is less likely to severely effect children it is understood that they can transmit the virus to others.
The news of comes after the company recently submitted data to the US FDA seeking emergency approval of the vaccine.
