Russian President Vladimir Putin has bucked the trend of global leaders praising 16-year-old climate change activist Greta Thunberg and dismissed the teenager calling her “poorly informed”.
The Russian President went on to say that Thunberg was being manipulated and used by adults to advance a political agenda.
President Putin went on to say that Thunberg should travel to developing countries and tell them they must remain in poverty and not become like Sweden, rather than continue to develop their economies which relies on fossil fuels.
The leader did not name who exactly was using the teenage Swede to advance their political agenda but he described the use of Thunberg as “deplorable”.
