Price hike: Government set to increase the price of wine and cheap drink within weeks

In what can only be described as yet another slap in the face to the Irish public by the government, Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar, Eamon Ryan, Stephen Donnelly and Simon Harris are set to increase the price of cheap wine and booze within weeks.

According to a leaked governmental document seen by the Sunday Independent newspaper, a drafted document will be presented to the Cabinet to go ahead with commencing Section 11 of the Public Health Alcohol Act, which will see a minimum price for wine, beer and spirits being introduced.

The Sunday Independent is reporting that the price increase could be introduced within weeks.

This would mean that cheap drink obtained in the likes of supermarkets could skyrocket as the summer approaches.

Many people enjoy a nice glass of wine or bottle of beer at home, especially during this ridiculously long draconian lockdown. It appears the government are set to fail people yet again.
